1 Thessalonians 2:4 But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.

What an honor God has approved us to be entrusted with the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.  Not that there is anything good in us but because of the revelation of who Jesus is and has come to do.  God is not looking for a qualified man or one who has lots of academia.  He doesn't call the equipped but equips the called.  Our message isn't to gain mans approval but to be faithful to Gods word.  If you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior, the Father has approved Him this has approved all those in Jesus.
I have encouraged many Christians who feel they are not qualified to share the gospel due to not having enough biblical knowledge.  But all they must need is a real experience with the word of God.

1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

Do you realize you are a sinner?  Present day?  We as born again Christians are washed from our past and have been given a new heart that desires to live for God.  Some Christians I have met in life actually have convinced themselves that they no longer sin now!  I really wished that was the case but I still sin intentionally as well as mostly unintentionally.  The difference now is I have the Holy Spirits conviction.  Trust me, nobody can relate to a person who thinks they have no more sin.  Its not realistic.  
Now, this by no means is an excuse to sin but a simple acknowledgement that you still have this horrible capability to.  One day soon, we will shed these carnal temporal bodies and take up our incorruptable bodies.  I cant wait!  Fact is presently, I need Jesus' sacrifice now more than ever!

1 Thessalonians 1:4 knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God. 

This is referred to as the Sovereignty of God to call those to eternal life.  The bible is clear, God knows everything and there are plenty of scriptures to support this.  I dont think its a hard stretch to believe this theological fact.  God is all knowing thus He calls those He knows will be elect.  I wish this topic was this simple.  
There is another side of this equation.  Mens responsibility.  There are just as many scriptures supporting this theological view of God and man.  
Here is where the two, I believe, compliment each other.  Both are scripturaly based and both are true.  God is Sovereign and men are responsible to respond to His calling.  God calls whosoever will believe unto salvation.  If you neglect that call, well God knew you would reject that call and you are not His elect.  Yet, though God knows everything, men know little to nothing.  Even men who at one time rejected God, later received Him.  We see this in a plethora of examples and I will give you the author of this verse, the apostle Paul as one.  
God calls you but you are responsible to answer the call.  The pendulum swings on either side is not the complete picture.  Only when it swings in the middle do you see the full picture of Gods word toward this subject.  You must be well grounded in the full counsel of Gods word.  If your theology has contradictions with other scriptures, your wrong!  My eternal calling and security is simply based in me living in the Vine (Jesus).

Patience can be seen in us.  This is very fascinating.  I can live day by day not knowing how the Spirit has calmed me or given me patience but the world around takes notice.  Oh, I do realize how I handle things now isnt even close to how I would handle them in a chaotic mess years ago before Christ.  By spending time with Jesus, it is impossible to not take upon ourselves His characteristics.  This hope the bible speaks of is not wishful thinking but earnest expectation.  If I know what is coming, Im for apt to wait patiently for it, even when things seem hopeless around me.  
This is the Christian I pray I am and will remain.  This is the Christian I pray I can help others experience, if by only, this feeble example but as the power of the Spirit living in me.  Jesus has changed my life.  Jesus continues to fix my course to heaven.  All my faith, love, and hope are in Him.  For Him.  Because of Him.

This is an interesting term, "labor of love".  This love spoken of is the Greek word Agape, Gods unconditional love.  When we spend time with Jesus, led by the Holy Spirit, we walk as He walks and talk as He talks and love as He loves.  The super spiritual Christians say, oh that isn't a labor of love at all!  Well, I will not argue with them but I will say, its not natural to me and I have to work on expressing Gods love.  I want revenge or I desire paybacks from those who wrong me.  Yet thats not what I find in Christs' flawless love shown to me.  I can tell you what it isn't very easy.  I have worked overtime in what love is not yet I also have worked hard to seek to be led by the Spirit and not the flesh more so.  Now, this labor of love is not burdensome whatsoever.  It actually is satisfying. There is a work Jesus told men to do, believe & act upon the work of God in that receive and trust what Jesus has done for you on the cross.  
Look, I have not perfected this labor of love but I am still laboring in it.  The benefits are out of this world.  I will be rewarded at His appearing soon.  I cant wait.

Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead) 

I honestly do not believe every professed Christian can say this or mean this.  Some have gone through the channels of ministry but have never personally heard the call.  Why even the internet will allow one to get a ordination.  Some take the ministry as a profession.  Some are kind of forced into it as well.  Yet what Paul says is the most freeing statement known to man concerning his ministry.  God called him to this and God will open the doors for His work.  If men place you there, men can get you out.  If God puts you in ministry, only God can take you out.  
Now, personally, I feel so free not having to answer to men about Gods word.  Oh, Im fully accountable to men for what I say and do but as long as its Gods word, He has my six!  Since Jesus was raised from the dead by the Father, we serve a living God who calls us.  There is power in His calling.  A dead ministry is not from Him.  He is Life!  God called me and thats where I want to keep it.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 

Who besides God would ever do this for you?  Jesus willingly took the curse of sin and the punishment for sin upon Himself on Calvary's cross for you.  He did not have to go but if He did not go, you & I have no hope and would die eternally in our sin, separated from God.  Jesus never sinned but the sin of the world was placed upon Him as He became our substitution.  His pain was our gain.  His death became our life.  He nailed the righteous requirements of sin to His cross so that we could be justified to live righteous lives in Him.  Next time someone offends you and you say these evil words, "they dont deserve my love" remember what Jesus did for you, in whom did not deserve His love.  He showed us His love in that while we were in sin, Christ died for you.

Paul knew everything that happened in his life was Father filtered.  Basically, God is in control and allows things to happen in our lives.  However, along with that statement, He only allows to a point and He has the ultimate last word of blessing to those who trust Him.  The Spirit never leads us to avoid the mountains of problems but to hit them square on in courage and power that He gives.  All things work together for good for those who love God and are called by Him.  This is such maturity to realize whatever comes into your life, whether good or bad, can and will bring glory to God and will never destroy you.  The only way it can is if you get away from His gracious loving arms of protection.  I don't like things that happen to me or my loved ones or even at times understand why but I know that God is the answer and solution to every one of them and that's where I place my confidence!

Most people finish what they start yet all people fall into situations in life that will not allow them to finish the job.  This doesn't make us flakes, It just proves we are powerless at times.  I love viewing new abandoned structures due to a variety of reasons on youtube.  What a total waste as mega structures sit dormant which in actuality, every part of it decays.  I dont believe anyone builds just to stop short and lose their project.  Unfortunate things happen.  Its all or nothing.
Now here is the good news.  Jesus finishes what He begins.  You never get old to Him.  He is totally committed to you and desires to finish our lives but we must allow Him.

Titus 1:1 Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness

Paul, a great leader in the early church, well learned and experienced man of God, describes himself as a bondservant, a slave by choice, to Jesus Christ.  He had the correct understanding of his LORD.  I witness to many Christians seem as though they are the boss and Jesus is their servant.  Now, that last part is 100% true, Jesus is the Servant of servants yet He serves us out of His true sincere love for us.  
After all, Jesus came to serve and give of His life in exchange for ours.  Who am I to tell Jesus what to do.  After being filled with the Holy Spirit, I wanted to serve Jesus in every capacity available.  Whenever the opportunities presented themselves, I would never turn them down.  This got a little challenging later. I think this is very telling of the person Paul was!  Are you Jesus' Servant or do you call the shots?  It cant be both ways.

The love of God is above everything.  This is a great prayer for all of us to pray that we have this abounding love.  Any other motive but love will left empty and never satisfy.  Gods love has this amazing ability to change lives for the better.  Love doesnt matter how many times you failed, what little knowledge you have, or what great accomplishments you've achieved.  This love that God has revealed and poured out upon us is the only thing that moves me.  The Lord taught to love by His example.

I'm sure the four buddies brought the paralytic to Jesus to be healed yet Jesus addresses the most important thing first.  Jesus will heal this man yet He first tells him his sins are forgiven.  I'm also confident this man desired to walk with God for the Lord wouldn't just tell a man who didn't think he was a sinner he forgave him.  What good would it be if he was healed only to die and go to hell?  Priorities must be set and our relationship with God is the utmost priority.

What hope we have access too in seeking out the Lord.  Here, the psalmist sought the Lord in his troubles.  That is a good time to do so for this life is abundant in troubles yet there is a greater, more uplifting time to seek out the Lord.  When life is seemingly going well for this really reveals our character.  Don't get me wrong, we are all one second from disaster but there are times in my great days, I tend to forget to seek Him out which is a downward spiral when the bad days come.  Look, I want to seek God in every season of life but especially in the good days.  For every good and perfect gift comes from God.  I want to tell Him thank you.  Oh and most importantly, I can only seek Him out because He first sought me out.  He left the 99 to find this 1 lost sheep.

How can one see creation and not accept that God is actively involved in His creation?  The wonderful works of God declare He is alive and near.  He hasn't put us off or forgotten about us.  I am overcome by praise to my heavenly Father and filled with gratitude for how He has taken this wretched sinner as I and saved me.  One cant see a radically changed life by the Spirit and not believe God is near.  He offers us hope and a sure eternal future of life and freedom from this body of sin and death.

Gods word has been consistent.  Every man will have to give account to God for what they have done with His Son Jesus Christ.  This is a huge problem for the unbeliever and those who reject Jesus as their Lord.  They assume life goes on as usual and God will not require anything of them.  This takes more faith than I have.  Its much easier to just simply believe in Gods inerrant word.  What purpose would one have to renounce God?  If God doesnt exist, you don't need to renounce Him anyways right?  But deep down inside every man, God has put eternity in his heart and mind.  I don't believe the atheist even believes God doesn't exist.  
I choose to proclaim His holy name on the highest mountain top.

God desires to hear from us.  Prayer is our greatest means to communication with God.  First, you must believe in whom you are speaking too or your prayers are kind of powerless and aimless.  When you come to fellowship with your loving Father, it's a sinch to speak to Him.  We have a heart of gratitude for God and it gushes over to others.  In order to truely love God, whom you've never seen, you should love your neighbor whom you see.  I can see my Lord through my brother or sister instead of their short falls.  I dont believe Paul was exaggerating here.  He lived a life of praying to His Lord and that life overflowed to praying for the abundant living for his friends.

Ezekiel 38:11 You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’— 12 to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land. 


In light of current events in our world, with the middle east now in conflict, a lot of ideas about bible prophecy is agitated.  First off, I am not saying this war is fulfilling Ezekiels prophecy or that it wont ever but I am saying what the prophet was speaking of was all these nations, Iran included, come against Israel.  Now, what is very important to note in this section of scripture I quoted above is the state of security Israel will enjoy before this great battle.  They will live without needs of walls and gates.  In other words, there is a degree of safety they will have for a season.  Israel does not enjoy that as of yet to date.  I think it will be a stretch and disservice to Gods word if we inject events to fulfill prophecy in this conflict.  I do believe this war isnt by happenstance but the pieces are all moving toward Gods word being fulfilled, and that it will!  
This is my personal view only on this conflict:  I think we, with a coalition of nations, neutralize Iran!  This may bring a temporal state of safety to the middle east region which will allow Israel to let their guards down.  Watch out, this prophecy is still in play and we are moving quickly toward it I do believe.  But I have little belief this is the actual fulfillment of the prophet Ezekiel, but I have been wrong before.
Please, do your searching of Gods word.  Examine the prophecies and facts and keep a level balanced view.  The world is always full of chaos but that doesnt mean prophecy fulfilled.  Iran currently is fighting external forces but much worse, their own citizens dont want the Islamic republic anymore which will over throw this government in due season.

Jesus knowingly aware of what was going to happen to Him very soon, He would be heading home, yet who is on His mind was His disciples.  He loved them unto the end of His life.  Oh, He would pick up where He left off at the resurrection. How many of us would be thinking of others under such conditions?  Not only were the disciples of His day on His mind, but I do believe so was you and I.  In fact, the only reason to go forward to the cross was because of us!  Jesus never sinned thus never needed to die for Himself.  You were always and still are on His mind.

To whom do you belong?  The religious leaders came to Jesus to trip Him up over an iron clad question about taxes to Rome, which by the way, in the hearing of roman guards.  Jesus, no matter how He would answer, would cause great division, which was the purpose of their question.  Jesus, in His wisdom, simply asked for a coin and asked them a simple question.  Who's image in on that coin?  The answer obvious, Caesars!

Mark 12:17 "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.

Yes, God owns everything yet has placed man as stewards of all this material world.  What men do with it, he will be held to account.  Caesar of the hour would make coinage with their inscription which revealed who was in charge.  Its as if men think God needs or wants our flawed worthless material goods over something more valuable to Him?  As if God came all the way from heaven to rack in the money that will someday just burn?  As if His economy is run of our corrupt monetary systems!

No, what He takes most precious as a possession is His creation whom He would give His life for.  Mans greatest accomplishment is a tarnished image of himself whereas Gods is man, made in the image of Himself. Jesus clearly pointed out, men belong to me!

Now, I'm not saying we are all His children.  This only happens as we are born from above and adopted into His house through Jesus Christ.  Two ways to look at this word by Jesus:

Generically, all men have been created by God thus will be accountable to God for what they do with Jesus.  Thus far, only God has created, and set in motion to repopulate from His pattern, a living being that is tri-une in nature, spirit, soul, & body.  Now, before conversion, you are spiritually dead in sin, separated from a living fellowship with God.  You are more like the animal kingdom, living off your natural impulses and carnal desires.

2. Those who are regenerated and born again.  A Spiritual birth has taken place.  We are now the temple of the living God.  We have the indwelling Spirit of God.  We bear the image of Christ.  We are adopted in as sons and daughters.
In which way, does an unbeliever in the God whom made them, have a right to withhold anything that belongs to God?
In which way, do we ever think, as Christians, we have a right to live as we please contrary to Gods will for us?  I desire to give to God all of me, good & bad, for He commands this.  If I am to function correctly, as intended by my Maker, I am to be found in Him.  

Regardless of whether you fall into 1 or 2, you belong to God so I advise you to give your life to Him.  You will never be disappointed.  If you do, you will enjoy the rich depth of the 2nd declaration I just mentioned.  To be born again and a child of God.

John 10:11  I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

Our Lord uttered these words.  Jesus is the Good Shepherd.  We are His sheep.  There are many, who refuse to be His sheep, yet will one day submit to Him and come into the fold.  We don't know who or when that will happen so in my opinion, anyone and everyone could be of His fold.  I never want to be that guy who rejects someone whom Jesus died for and will be in His fold.  That is not my job.  Jesus also gave His life for His sheep.  Nobody else could or would do this?  The rise and fall of every man hinges upon what they do with Jesus.  Receive Him or reject Him.  However, keep in mind, Jesus gave His life so that all could be saved!  Nobody is outside of Gods grace & love.  You only need to examine your own sinful life and how Christ saved you to know this to be true.  You may of just been that one that Jesus left the ninety nine and sought out.

Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

The LORDS message has been consistent.  This has always been His desire in that He will take residence within us.  He will take our old broken selfish sinful heart of stone out and replace it with a soft heart toward Him.  This changes everything.  All the years of trying to be better yet failing is over.  The new heart frees us to actually live for God and we now have His desires motivating our lives.  One can never get right unless this miraculous spiritual process takes place.  You must be born from above, born again, of Gods Spirit.  The best heart an natural man can produce is a heart of stone.  Cold and indifferent toward the God who made them and loves them.  Hardened not by God, but by the vary world in which they submit under.  Jesus came to make all things new for you and I.  He has done just that in my life.  If you haven't personally invited Jesus to be your LORD and Savior, please do that now.

Luke 2:10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 

The bible has always been consistent.  Gods glorious salvation is for all people who will receive Jesus Christ as their LORD & Savior.  Every religion known to man excludes most others.  They say they will receive you but there comes a line in the sand in which they wont allow you to cross if not on their terms.  Obviously, Im not advocating coming to God on your terms but He does call you and I to come as we are.  We definitely wont leave as we came however.  The reason Christ had to come is that we dont have our lives together.  We come to realize we need a Savior.  The most important part about the good news is that our eyes are opened to the bad news first.  The reality of what our sin has done in separating us from God.  We were heading to hell fast but God!
