"I know this may cost me my cush job by the religious leaders, but what do I have to lose for my daughter?" All these points and more flooded Jairus' mind. His faith, not the best example, but faith no less, is more in line of most Christians experience of faith. Come and allow Jesus to break you, to humble you, and then watch Him build you up into the person of God He created you to be. We are all Jairus! Desperate for Jesus!

What Soil of Heart are You Toward Gods Word?

Luke 8:11 “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. 14 Now the o...

I would be deceiving myself if I thought my heart was always humble to accept Gods word every time. These words of Christ are life to me and help get me back to where I need to be as a follower of Christ. Talk is cheap and action is what is needed. By Gods grace, if we find our heart choking out Gods word by the cares of this life, we can alter our course. We cant change our hearts, that's Gods job, but we are to change our minds toward Gods word.
