Turn From & Turn To
Matthew 3:1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”
This is the 1st public message in 400 years since God spoke through His prophets. Talk about a spiritual desert. The outcome of this message is amazing in its response and reception to the gospel. This message by John is the gospel. Now is the time. The fullness of time has arrived. Repent means to turn from your direction. But the other, most critical part, is to turn to God. Jesus, God the Son, was ready to begin His ministry. No longer was God coming, He is already here. Johns message was Gods message. If God says repent, it means we repent. Oh how this message has fallen on deaf ears by the religious community. Even if you walk with God, we all have room to grow more.

AMEN.
nThe desert setting was a place removed from the temptations of society, and was appropriate for a message that demanded radical change. Repentance…. A radical change in my life which I can follow up with my baptism as a public symbol of my faith in God and the new direction in in my life. With all of this being said, there’s still a lot more to learn about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his gospel.
