Christ is Our Example (1 John)

Great morning Ya'll. Okay, so John will give us three ways how Christ is our example. John was the disciple whom Jesus loved, so he is an excellent source for this message. Obviously, Jesus loves all His kids. Here is John's insights:
1st, John explains how Jesus is our example in Our Walk. 1:7, 2:6. We should walk as He walked. Not complicated there. We declare the gospel where He did, to all! Live the gospel. Walking means action & progress. Neutral is backwards. A little forward is good.
2nd, John says Jesus is our example in Righteousness. 3:3, 3:7. Other words, since Jesus practiced all righteousness, its inconsistent to do unrighteousness and call yourself a Christian. Its this simple, live righteously because Jesus is Righteous. Its always the right time to live right!
3rd, John says Jesus is our example in Love. 3:23, 4:17. John actually mentions agape 45 times in these 5 chapters. If there is any example Jesus left him, love was it. John's who life reflected the love of Christ. What love is only found in Jesus. God is love. Love is the sole evidence that we are Christ' disciples, and that for each other. Some tolerate but God loves unconditionally.
This trifecta is the ultimate examples Christ deeply impressed upon John and we would do good to follow them also.
* Next, What are the six False Professions: “if we say” or “if a man say” Christians make on a regular basis? John lists them for us and yes, they are still around today! John cleans up the churches sloppy agape!
