Trusting Gods Promises

1 Kings 2:23 Then King Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, “May God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life! 24 Now therefore, as the LORD lives, who has confirmed me and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has established a house for me, as He promised, Adonijah shall be put to death today!”25 So King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he struck him down, and he died.

What wisdom God gave Solomon. Solomon is not defending his own interests but Gods word.  Notice he mentions it was the LORD who set him on the throne of David and He promised this.  This is all that matters.  What is Gods calling upon you?  Do you trust Him and fight for that word that will be challenged?  Not for your benefit but for Gods righteous decision to place you there.  I love the Pastorate.  Not because what it does for me but the satisfaction I have because I'm walking in His calling for me and doing what He created me to be.  I can care less about a pursuit of this office if not for the calling.  I even gave up on this pursuit some time ago, trying to move on after an apparent failure in closing down the church in Long Beach MS.  God never gave up on His calling upon my life.  Chuck Smith taught us, "If you can do anything else but the pastorate, do it!" That's just it, there is nothing else we want to do!  I will walk in my calling so long as Jesus calls me to, because He knows best for my life.  How about you?  Are you walking in the calling in which He has called you or letting it pass you by?  If so, lets talk.
