The Christian Who Leaves Jesus

Revelation 2:2 “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

Ephesus was a church on the move.  It worked hard in the things Christ modeled for them.  They showed the attributes of Christ in their services. They refuted false doctrines.  They even never gave up on Christ and His mission.  Yet, the most important thing a Christian can do, they neglected and even walked away.  They didnt maintain a personal relationship with their LORD Jesus Christ.  Their Christian service became mechanical.  Do you know this can really happen? They stopped growing in their personal walks and focused on everyone else as they maintained the ministry.  I dont want the ministry without the Minister!  Church is nice but without Jesus, its just a social club.  Now, there are great benefits we have in the body of Christ, no doubt, but they become self centered not Christ centered without Jesus.  Everyday I live for as a Christian is for Him and unto Him.  I need to hear His voice and seek His face daily.  As a christian, I dont want to leave my first love, Jesus!
