Holding on to Jesus?
Revelation 2:25 But hold fast what you have till I come.
Jesus, speaking to the church of Thyatira, says to those who have not walked in the ways of satan, to hold fast until Jesus returns. Jesus is coming soon. Now, our LORD is an amazing God. He gives us credit for things we have little to no reason for. He calls me to hold on to Him in this dark world but truth is, He holds me! I'm not correcting Jesus here, just clarifying a very important factual point. I have moments where I'm holding tightly but others that I've been distracted and let go for a moment. When raising both my kids, there was never an issue holding their little hands as we walked in public or crossing a busy street yet it would often turn to them wanting some freedom away from my strong grip. This is our weakness. We are good with Jesus holding us and we holding Him but then we tend to want our "freedom". LORD, I'm not trusting my grip upon You but Your grip upon me! I will do my best to hold on but I know the truth, You hold me! When Jesus returns, I will be there with Him, not because of my grip, but His upon me.

This is so very true. Our hearts and thoughts are prone to wander from the One who loves us most, yet the Father always holds us and draws us back to Him. This is a precious truth in the light of the chaos that is life. In Him we have peace and joy beyond anything Earth can provide.
