What Sign Will Jesus Give?

John 2:18 So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”20 Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” 21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body. 22 Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

Signs are important for navigational purposes.  But they are nothing more.  Its okay to ask God for Him to confirm His word with us at times.  But once He has, its time to let that faith continue our journey in Christ.  When driving to a destination, I really dont need so many signs along my path.  Just let me know Im heading in the right direction and Im good.  Some Christians know the direction but still need more!  The religious leaders knew Jesus was more than a mere man, He claimed divinity.  Yet they ask for a sign.  God says, I will give you the sign of My Resurrection.  What you do with it is up to you.  He has power over death.  Something Pharaoh of Egypt came to realize he was powerless about.  Jesus' body was the temple He spoke of.  He dwelt among us and took on human flesh.
We as Christians should never seek after signs or wonders.  They never build our faith.  We seek only after Jesus and those signs and wonders will follow us.  When I see a person of God, God confirms His will evidently.  But when I see a person chasing signs, I see a very lost confused individual who needs to only seek Jesus.
