Commandments of God vs traditions of man?
Matthew 15:1 Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, 2 “Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”3 He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?
Traditions are nice. They mean something to stroke our pride but they often always result in humanistic dominance vs Godly observances. Man just cant leave Gods simplistic commands alone and will add to them as if they are not enough. Men always will try to fill the quite voids God makes due to his uncomfortable ability to just sit at the LORDS feet and wait for further instruction. Its as if men take what God gives and seek to make it better? When Jesus confronts this traditional lean in us, how do we respond? We cant have it both ways, Gods commands and mens traditions. They are diametrically opposed from each other. What do you want more?
