What is Your Faith Grounded In?

John 2:23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. 24 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, 25 and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.

Many who witnessed the miracles of Jesus believed in Him.  This is wonderful right?  Well, yes and no.  This has taken many years to grasp and I don't think I'm there yet even but our faith upon Jesus Christ must solidly rest upon His word not just miracles.  If miracles are the driving factor, brace yourself for a satanic ride also because Satan uses signs and wonders to deceive as well.  We are not seeking to turn people to God through wonders but a grounded real faith that comes only through trust and belief in the LORD.  Often, I see no signs that will guide me but I always have His unchanging proven word.  True believers are never to chase after signs but signs will always follow the believer, we just don't know when!  I am truly saddened by new believers who after the newness has passed fall back into the same old life they were delivered from all because of false expectations.  I personally cant recall how many times I felt like quitting due to my own expectations not taking place, discouragement floods in, and my utter helplessness consumes my mind.  Then at the end of all that, I see the greatest Hope ever, Jesus!  What is motivating your belief in Christ today?  If Jesus never did anything further for you, are you good with that?  There are many days I don't have a clue what God is doing in me but I stand on Who He is and what He has already done as well as what He has promised me.  I hope this will help you in your walk of faith today.
