Jesus Knocks On Your Hearts Door

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Often, men think they have to initiate the actions to come to God.  They go against their natural instincts and determine, promise, and some discipline themselves to live for God.  This is a formula for burnout, disaster, failure.  After all, I dont even know who the Lord is if not for Him, moreless find Him.  What we read here is amazing and revolutionary for us.  Jesus is the initiator here desiring us to respond to Him and open up and allow Him in.  Now, Jesus is always on the outside until He is invited in.  He will never force Himself in a life.  However, make no mistake about it, it has always been God starting the relationship between He and man.  If any one opens, which means nobody is exempt and everyone is invited, He will come in and feast with us.  Look, I get that you are tired of the salesmen knocking at the door, or the neighbor who always wants something from you, but Jesus is not that.  He desires to give you eternal life, completeness, & Himself.  But we only need to open the door!

Prior to reading this my analogy had been, someone is knocking at my door. I look through the peephole. It's Jesus. But I don't know who that is so I don't open the door. How can I get to know Him if I don't open the door?

nI opened the door! Thank you Jesus for knocking on my door and waiting for me to answer.
