Christ' Mission
Luke 9:22 “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.”
These are not the words any typical revolutionary wants to hear from their leader, well at least the majority of it. The last part will never sink in to the natural mind because nobody ever beats death! The resurrection from the dead was just a nice upbeat cheer to end on since death was the end all. No, it will take divine faith to look past the death and into the same promise that Jesus would rise again. Only faith will allow one to believe this. Who did they really have to base a true resurrection by?
I am no different then all of them. I find it hard at times to press into faith when what my natural senses have been shouting to me what God says wont work for you. When all I see is the death, pain, destruction the world is best at. Yet, the Spirit gives me life and courage to believe the unbelievable. True, only God could do what God says He would do, that's why is a miracle. We tend to flippently use the term miracle as if anyone can do it if they just try hard enough. The same God who promised He would die also promised He would rise again. Do you believe He is who He said He was, the Resurrection and the Life? So then, I believe you do, then why get so tripped up at your death or pain?
