Gods Word is Bitter Sweet

Revelation 10:8 Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.”9 So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.”And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.” 10 Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter.

As I read about the coming judgment of God, I'm like John here.  Initially, it is sweet knowing justice is coming soon.  All these years of waiting for righteousness to prevail has come.  But as it settles in, my stomach is turned to bitterness and sorrow.  Not my righteous sorrow, but the LORDS.  For I start to understand that He desires none to perish yet many will due to their own rejection of Christ.  There is no rational reason why any person should spend eternity in hell separated from all that is God.  This is one of several reasons I have chosen to use all I am for the furtherance of the gospel of Christ these last 29 years plus.  Only those who partake of His word will know of this bitter sweet experience.
