Beginnings of Sorrow
Matthew 24:6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Now, I do not believe Jesus is talking about the church here! The context throughout most of this chapter is speaking to the Jews, Jewish customs, Jewish language. We will be raptured out of here before this great tribulation. This will be Gods wrath on a Christ rejecting world. Remember, up until 3 1/2 yrs of the 7 yr great tribulation, Israel will still be deceived by the antichrist.
Now, its to Israel, and maybe the tribulation saints, Jesus says, Dont be troubled! Hard times are coming but this is only the beginning of sorrows, or labor pains. When a mom is ready to give birth, same term here, the contractions intensify and become more frequent. This is the whole point. All these things have happened throughout time yet they will become more intense & frequent during this time. Up until World War I, the world has never faced kingdom against kingdom. This is rather new. Then World War II. Do you think those in these wars thought the end was near? Absolutely! I believe Jesus is coming back in my lifetime! If Im wrong, well, no loss! No matter what times of trouble come upon anyone of Gods people, His word is perfectly consistent, Do not be troubled!

The Word of God is always trustworthy. Reliable. The written Word reveals the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are most blessed to have access to God's letters to all people. Love letters are personal and precious. This is the Father's love letter to those who believe. It informs us of the past, the present, and the future. We can learn so much from reading and relying on the Word of God.
