Am I Hungry For God?

Psalm 84:2 My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

This is the key distinction between a living relationship with God verses a traditional religious dead faith of God.  Jesus told us that we are to love the LORD our God with all of our heart, mind, soul, & strength.  Many people are okay with some aspects of God to forge their lives but only surface deep.  Once the forging becomes painful or requires self control & discipline, any devotion to God gets cut out.  Its difficult enough, as a Christian to continue this course, however very satisfying.  Yet as a Pastor, the magnification of those who once walked this living way after Jesus, thriving in the Spirit, then choose to give up, is heart breaking.  It plays a heavy toll on all Christians who remain in Christ, but especially upon Christ' leadership.  I totally get the "though none go with me, still I will follow" stance but that never makes it easier when those you love doesn't sing that tune. I guess what I see here is this, my heart and all thats within me cries out for the true and living God.  LORD continue to shape me and mold me after Your image.  Is that your prayer as well?

Amen. Where else can we find salvation and endless unselfish love?
