The Message Remains the Same

2 Thessalonians 2:5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?

Its perfectly normal to change our positions on things in life multiple times.  In fact, its the process of life to do so.  We are all well familiar with change even though we hate change.  However, Gods word never changes!  Its never revised!  It exceeds the days and cultures that come and go.  Paul reminds the reader of the same message he told them when he was present with them.  Prophecy doesn't get adjusted based off current events.  It doesn't change due to more info or an evil regime.  God states His word when His word doesn't make any logical sense at the time, often the word at hand doesn't even exist for thousands of years.  Such as the cross. Crucifixion of Jesus was for told 1000 yrs before it was even invented.  The Assyrian Empire used a form of impelling folks on a stake around 700 ad.  It would be the Romans, before the turn from bc to ad, that invented and fine tuned this capital punishment.  It hasn't been used for capital punishment since the early Roman empire.  There are hundreds more like this, its called prophecy!
God speaks as if it already happened or will happen, exactly the way He speaks.  Now, Paul reminds them of what words of comfort God has already given the church.  Now, just walk in them.  Now just believe them.  Now just don't seek another word but embrace them.  In counseling, often, it is a trap to continue new coarse of action.  Just simply focus on the action 1st initiated and stick with it!  We make the problems so confusing when we change our course so much.  Go back to what Gods word said!

So often we get entangled in traditions of man and doctrines of men that have little or no resemblance to the truth contained in the Word of God. Our Father has laid His plan clearly for us to read and understand. He also gives us Spirit led pastors and teachers to teach the Word accurately and with love. But wait. There's actually more! The Holy Spirit dwells within us to open our eyes and hearts and minds to understand.

Amen. We have the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to lead us thru this life. Such a wonderful truth.
