Out of Darkness into Light

Genesis 12:3 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.

Jesus is the LORD!  He showed up to Abram (Abraham later) and spoke to him.  Abram will be considered the father of faith but it all started here!  When God speaks to us, do we listen and obey?  Abram wasn't a shoo-in but his actions activated Gods desired promises for him.  Jesus said, get out of your country, from your family, your fathers house and go to a place I show you.  Now, Abrams family, father, country, was full of idolatry and anti God lifestyles.  Everything he knew and trusted which wasn't God, leave now!  God doesn't rehabilitate this old sinful heart, He completely makes us a new one.  Go to the place I show you.  We have a choice, remain in darkness & bondage to sin or be freed to live free of the enslavement of sin.  Jesus later would talk about this born again experience.  This spiritual birth into the kingdom of God and from God, made alive.
Now, not everything we leave is sin or against God.  Sometimes, good things can divert us from God things when God says go but we say no.  Melissa, I, and our kids left all we knew in Missouri 20 years ago because God called us to Mississippi.  Not to hurt them but to bless many by what God was going to do.  Its always hard leaving what you know to go into the unknown, but as long as the LORD is in it, its fullness of joy!  No regrets!  We echo Jim Elliot as he said, "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."  We chose to lose our life in Christ to gain it!  Abram, I totally get the place you were in but the blessing of obeying the LORD with the only logical decision to make.  GO!

3 years I moved to Biloxi. Why Biloxi? Sure my sister was here and I wanted to be near family, a Christian family. I didn't know I would be gaining a church family. Amen to that!

nSince moving here my life has changed, I have changed. God has definitely changed me and continually doing so. The last year has been such a transformation in me that I can acknowledge. What was pleasing to me that the world has to offer, is becoming less important. Some of the conversations others now make me uncomfortable. That there is a changed heart. So thankful for that.

nSo, 3 years ago I really didn't know where my life was headed but now I am assured that GOD is in control. Why Biloxi? Why not? Just go!

Praising the Lord for the way He guides the steps of His children. 🙌🙏

This is a response to mister Bob! Why Biloxi? It is because I live in this State wherever Biloxi is! You've been longing to follow Jesus. "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." Matthew 16:24. I am your cross Mr. Bob! You're doing a great job of carrying the cross God gave you. One day God will say, "well done my faithful servant!" 😇😂

nGod have a great sense of humor! 😁

Great application and interaction ya'll. God always calls us by faith. We trust in a faithful God who never disappoints. Continue to trust, follow, respond to the Holy Spirit.
