Obedience the First Time?

Genesis 12:4 So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran

What great hope in the scriptures we have.  Gems hide away for those who dig deep in the word of God to find.  God Called Abraham to leave his family, home, fathers house, basically all the culture of idols worship.  Did he?  Yes, but not right away.  He left but stopped in Haran.  Still in the land of his fathers.  But I'm not being critical to Abram, but this really encourages me.  Not to have excuses why not to be totally obedient but when I'm not, Gods mercy and grace is sufficient.  He works with me and my weaknesses.  My lack of total faith.  My unbelief that I want Him to turn to complete belief in Him.  Look, if the father of faith had issues yet God still blessed him, then I have a chance also.  There is zero excuse for disobedience.  Yet, we are flawed right now.  I'm truly amazed how God gets anything done while having to use us.  Its truly a miracle that Gods kingdom advances when we, His church, are His tools.  But then again, thats the glorious product the Holy Spirits power in the life of a simple believer.  By the way, Abraham was 75 years old when he got the promise for Isaac.  It wouldn't be another 25 years until Isaac would be born.
