Godly Desire Leads us to Glorify God

John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

The book of James tells us that sin is a result of desire, so what is Jesus telling us here in John?  Well, James is correct, carnal mans desire is to sin.  James speaks of the man who is not following God.  John speaks to the man who is a follower of Christ.  We are not comparing apple with apples.
However, what Jesus said here very clearly, is about a disciple of His.  A follower of Jesus Christ has denied his selfish ambitions and picked up his cross and follows Jesus.  We no longer seek our selfish desires but Gods.  God will grant those godly desires of our hearts.  The only way to have godly desires is to abide in Christ and He in you.  Not just hearing His word or even participating in good deeds.  We must humble ourselves and follow all that Jesus said, did, & lived for.  Oh how my life has been radically changed by this simple process.  Oh how I have been so blessed to bring glory to my heavenly Father.  We must make sure we abide in Christ & He in us.

nSometimes pride get in the way, but the Lord has power to take it down and refocus on his face again. That’s where we abide in him and he on us. The desires of my heart is to be a faithful servant for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Help me Lord to spread the word and the gospel. ?
