The Anabaptists

The Anabaptists were a movement of believers in our LORD Jesus Christ who simply rejected the Catholic churches practices of infant baptisms as illegitimate.  Their name means "rebaptizer" yet they were stating one must be baptized when they were aware of what baptism meant.  It amazes me how easily we fight and divide over another mans conscience in practicing their faith and when its not an essential doctrine.  I believe the Anabaptists were correct in their stance.
The denominations that have sprung from them are some baptists, Quakers, Amish, & Mennonites.  Their origins are rooted in the reformation.  In Zurich 1525, three men, Conrad Grebel, Felix Manz, & George Blaurock sought to just debate their position before the courts.  Laws were made against them and they would be forbidden to meet, teach, fellowship before they even got this chance.  I so much appreciate my freedoms in our great country, men who fought and died for them, so I can practice the most basic rituals, in freedom.  In 1529, the Anabaptists were condemned to death by fire, water, & sword.  The war between God & satan has always been evident since the fall of man.  One day however, the Father will say enough!  By the way, the Fathers Son, Jesus Christ, wasnt exempt from this great conflict.  Look what satan did to Jesus!

The last thing satan expected was that the death and defeat of Jesus would turn out to be the greatest of all the victories the world has ever seen. Jesus resurrected and reigning at the right hand of the Father. The day is coming when satan will suffer eternally for his rebellion to God, and for the deception and pain he has caused humanity. On that day, the victory in Jesus will be our song of triumphant joy.
