My House is a House of Prayer

On this Monday of Passion Week, the final week of Jesus beginning at His triumphal Entry into Jerusalem on Sunday called Palm Sunday to His resurrection from the dead the next Sunday.  Today, Monday, I highlight the sharp contrast between the making merchandise of Gods people in Gods house to Jesus' zeal & love for His Father and His people to bring willing sacrifices unto God and enjoy the connection God wants to have with them.  The temple mount was a mess and became a place of stumbling.  The religious leaders were marking up required sacrifices and ripping people off.  People cringed at going up to Jerusalem.  No longer, because Jesus would overturn the exchange tables & drive out the animals as well as the four footed ones!  Matt 21:13 Jesus said to the religious leaders, "It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves."  They were caught dead to rights!  There was no push back.  They could not argue what Jesus said.  What a bold action by our LORD!  We can get upset at all the things Jesus would never but tolerating the things we see Him angry at.  Jesus in His righteous anger, reclaimed His Fathers house!  This was a huge win.  It wasn't the Romans Jesus sought to overturn this day, it was His own religious house of those who were in most cases, worse than pagan Romans.  LORD, what are you wanting to overturn in me today?  I invite You to do so without resistance.  I truly want to know.
