Peacemakers
Matt 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.
What does it mean to be a peacemaker? What does a peacemaker look like? In our world, full of diverse people, we sit upon a power keg. The fuse is lite. If not for the LORD, this thing will blow. To be a peacemaker, you must desire peace as your only option. War is only inevitable if peace is refused. However, the goal is peace, calm, rational dialogue. I never could understand why two grown ups cant sit down and talk. Usually those who refuse to talk, the outcome doesn't effect. All those in their care are the ones paying the cost. Case in point: All the world leaders who lead their countries into war, did they 1st go? NOPE! It takes a special person to focus on peace. The kind of people Jesus leads us to be. A peacemaker looks like Jesus. Jesus has all power to totally destroy this world yet has such restraint as He reasons with man. One day, that great battle will come, and Jesus will win it! Today, we have the amazing privilege of experiencing peace with God. We then share that with all around us. I have no problem with our national defense in a fallen world, God ordains government to keep civility. But I have great issue with Christians who take a militant stand toward those who are not like them. How is that better than the Muslims? When we exalt peace, we step in our Fathers footsteps and yes, we are children of God, taking on His attributes. So, how have you brought peace in your home today? Job? church? pta meeting? Restaurant?

Peace is a great joy that God provides. It’s our choice to live with peace and count our blessings with what God blessed us with and be content with it , or live in misery.
nI was watching my 4 years old granddaughter in the pool. She was playing in the water and singing. She was happy, calm, peaceful, confident and very content. She stayed there for more than an hour by herself. I pointed it out to my husband and said, “ Look at her, she’s very content and joyful by herself. Peaceful and happy. If we adults can be just like her instead of living in misery, how great that will be.”
nI asked for peace and love in my life. I experienced life with material possessions and it doesn’t really make me happy. It’s PRIDE show off to others what I have had. After the passing of my late husband, my life changed drastically and God showed me what is the most important thing in my life. These are the most important things God revealed to me:LOVE, PEACE AND JOY. These are the most important parts of my daily prayers.
Amen. Peace starts with each of us, and by the grace of God we can share the peace of the Prince of Peace with others. Starting in our own homes.
