Letting the LORD battle for you

Jude 9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” 

There is a foolish belief in the church that we become super spiritual beings.  That the devil now has to do everything we say.  That we can bind him and loose him, not sure why we would ever want him loosed? Obviously, this idea isnt from the bible but taken from the bible out of context.  I'm no theologian and I have a lot to learn but what I have learned in 29 years is that I always need Jesus as my defense.  Satan is never scared of me and I have serious weaknesses in the spiritual realm, even on my best of days.  satan has far greater experience in history than I.  But thats where things end!  I am to not lean on my own strength but upon the LORD.  When does the LORD stop and we take up our defense? When will we have dominion over the enemy?  We will rule & reign with Christ soon but for now, I will follow Judes advice in given the example of Michael the archangel, The LORD rebuke you satan.  When the devil comes a knocking, send Jesus to the door.
