Are You Ready When Jesus Calls You?
Matthew 4:18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
Are you ready when Jesus calls you to follow Him? The only way you will be ready is if you desire to live for more than just this bland world. Jesus, knowing all things, had initiated this conversation with Peter and the gang. God had arranged for this day because they had been desiring to know more about Jesus. See, what we dont read here, but Johns gospel fills in, is Peter saw and witnessed Jesus about 6 months to possibly a year prior to this day. Im sure he wasnt the same after that and longed to follow this Jesus, called the Messiah. This is the only reasonable explanation for such a radical shift from living comfortably with the family business to leaving all that at the sound of an invitation. We are never to make knee jerk moves but think them out. I thought out what it meant to live for Jesus. It took me longer than Peter that I can say. But when He called, at that perfect time, I was primed and willing to go to the ends of the earth for Him. This is the relationship I hope everyone reading this has with Jesus. If not, thats okay, the LORD knows your desires and the timing of everything. If your call is being stunted, I would pose this, maybe you havent yet seen who Jesus is or witnessed Who He is as of yet. Get into the bible and ask the Holy Spirit to show you Jesus. I have not doubt, the world will get dimmer and Jesus brighter.
