Spirits Leading Where?
Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
If this were not in the Bible, many would be rebuked for stating such a thing. The Spirit would lead Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted? Make no mistake about what the text is stating, the Holy Spirit does not tempt with sin but is the only way to over come it. The answer to sin and the devil isn't to run from him but hit him square on with Gods Word. Jesus, the undefeated Champ, knocked out Satan and his little scheme by taking him to Gods word. After the Spirit came upon Jesus, He was led by the Spirit into a place of Satan's turf. No body wants to go there but must. Now, He won by His own word but we are different. We go into this dark sin filled world, not by our words, but by His. Look, in order to reach the world with the gospel, we have to boldly go into places fear keeps us from. Every place I can recall that I have brought the gospel was not home field advantage. It was the Spirit that led me and the Spirit whom empowered me. Jesus said, "the gates of hell will not prevail against the church". What is He saying? Gates are defensive in nature. Satans kingdom is on defense when the Spirit moves. He cant prevail against it. We, the church, must be on offense and take back ground lost with the gospel. Led souls to Jesus.
