What does your heart treasure?
Matthew 6:19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
This passage spoken by Jesus is rather challenging. What are treasures in heaven vs the earth? Well, what men live and die for here, like gold, is asphalt in heaven. The most costly of things here, I don't believe will be of much value there. We all need money to pay for things and the living we enjoy, I get that, but to make it a treasured item, well I believe that goes to far, if Jesus means what He says here! What is my heart considering treasures? The answer, though rather challenging to nail down, is a resounding conclusion. I treasure Gods will more than anything else. I consider His agenda, and me walking in that, as treasure. I see people as Gods creation, and worthy of serving them in Christ, because He loves people and gave His life for them. I treasure the calling of God as more important as moving up the corporate ladder. Thus Ive been put in several spots in my job career to prove this love for the calling. On two occasions, I stepped out of management positions to answer the call that didn't offer much or any monetary compensation at the time. Never regretting any of those decisions. So, when Jesus says, where my treasure is, there my heart is also, He is 100% correct. My heart is upon the LORD and so is what I consider treasure. The LORD gave me this perspective, in which I am grateful beyond words. My life can now make a difference as my LORDS life has made and makes a difference.

Amen
The truest treasure is our relationship with Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. All the best earthly treasures are enjoyed because we see so clearly that they are given us for a time by our Father. The people we love, the beauty of the world He created are so much more precious when we see them as gifts from His hands to us. Even the things we possess have meaning, because He provided. Yes, we work and live our daily lives; but recognizing that all good things come from the Lord. I want to spend the rest of my life treasuring the Lord's Presence and honoring the people He brings into my life.
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
â€â€Matthew‬ â€6‬:â€21‬ â€NKJV
I always try to keep these verses in mind when I make decisions. God usually shows me when I am putting earthly treasures before him.
