Father, Son, & Holy Spirit
Matthew 3:16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Who really can explain the doctrine of the Trinity or the tri-unity of God? Every earthly example may begin good, but falls short. Yet we see the Tri-une God & His characteristics throughout His creation. In fact, God made man a tri-une being: spirit, soul, & body. The plurality of God, yet one God, is found in Genesis 1:1. In the beginning, GOD (Elohim). There are 3 Hebrew words for God, El-singular, Elo-duel, and here Elohim-Plural.
At the baptism of Christ here, Jesus, the Son of God, the Spirit descending as a dove upon Him, & the Father speaking from heaven, this is My beloved Son!
The Jesus only doctrine, theologically false, claims Jesus through His voice impersonating the Father, and Jesus appeared as a dove upon Himself! Yes, complete nonsense. Now, I don't need to understand the mechanics of the things of God to believe they exist or they are real. Most people don't know how an engine works in its basic explanation yet fully believes the benefits a car brings.
Now, today we will inaugurate our 47th president of our great nation. This baptism, in a way, was Jesus' inauguration as it began His public ministry.
