Our Actions Matter
Luke 3:8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 9 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
A fruit tree must bear fruit. It doesnt sweat or grind in order to do so. It just simply abides in the vine. Fruit is a natural process. As a christian, we naturally produce godliness supernaturally by the Spirit of God. Fruits of repentance simply are being made aware of your sin against God, stopping that sin, and yielding unto what God says about that sin. Calling sin for what it is and hating it for what its caused. Its not just tears, wailing, it is a visible change of lifestyle. Its faith in action. Jesus was nailed to the cross for my sin, its that deadly. I should walk in the same manner as Jesus toward sin. Not crucifying our physical body, yet taking up our cross and denial of selfishness and live for God.
