How Can I Be Like Jesus?

John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Jesus uses an example that was common to most of the day, agriculture.  The branches come from the vine, sustained by the vine, and bear fruit due to the nourishment the vine offers.  We are the branches.  Jesus is the vine.  We must live, not die, in Him!  He alone offers life, what an honor.  He calls us to thrive and blessings in Him.  Many christians want to be like Jesus but never do this simple step that is required.  To abide, or live, in Jesus!  My identity must be His.  I must follow Him, take up my cross, & deny my carnal ambitions.  Oh the joy and powerful experiences I have while abiding in Christ.  They are truly the bright spots of my life.  Most christians try to do great things for God but fail to understand the greatest work God wants to do is in them.  What a relief it is to know all I need to do is rest in Jesus and then I will bare fruit like Jesus in my life.  Are you an orchard of fruit or a manufacturer of works spiritually speaking?  In Jesus, fruit just comes.  In a hot sweaty manufacturing plant, working & grinding is the norm.
