Being Led By Scripture

Luke 3:4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying:
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight.5 Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth; 6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

This is the standard.  This passage speaks of John the baptists calling before the Messiah (Jesus).  What a solid, stable, rich calling to trace your purpose to the word of God & for the word of God.  This passage quotes Isaiah 40:3-5.  Notice John will declare the path of the Lord, and introduce the much awaited Messiah.  Every eye shall see Jesus.
Now, this has been so correct.  Anyone and everyone who desires to know God must come to Jesus.  Whether men do or not is totally up to them.  In every culture, in every nation, & in every century, Jesus has been declared as the only Savior of humanity.
Now, can we have our lives just as led by the scriptures as John here?  Absolutely we can, maybe not taking away from Johns unique calling but we are called to declare the ways of righteousness and to denounce sin.  We are called to lift up the name of Jesus to a hopeless dark world.  We also cry in the wildernesses of this world because the world wont give us a platform for such a message.  Yet that's okay, because the Spirit of God draws men's hearts to Him regardless of our lack.  We are all called, as christians, to bring God glory.
