Jesus Crucified (Thursday)

Now, the Thursday Crucifixion is not without controversy and is not tradition.  I dont seek to make waves but in my biblical studies, a Thursday event has the most evidence and makes perfect sense.  There are problems with reconciling a Friday death.  Jesus was taken from the Garden to the high priests house, spent the night there, and sometime Thursday morning, sent to Pilot.  Now, the weekly sabbath is Saturday, which starts Friday sundown to Saturday sundown ends.  This year however, there also was a high holy day, Mark 15:42, the Day of Preparation, 14th, Passover, which was Thursday sundown to Friday sundown.  So two sabbaths.  Holy days were also sabbaths.  You see, its easy for gentile thought to miss this Jewish observance.  Also, the Thursday crucifixion perfectly fulfills the 3 days and 3 nights in the grave.  There is some credence to any part of a day equaling a whole day but I think that is a stretch.  I believe God said what He meant and meant what He said.  The rush for the Jews was to get Jesus off the cross before Passover (sundown Thursday) in which they broke the legs of the thieves to hasten their death and found Jesus already dead! Joseph sought for His body and placed Him in His own never used tomb.  Did satan finally win?  What a horrible day for Jesus' loved ones!  I cant imagine the pain Mary His mother had.  My 9 year old granddaughter stated last Saturday, "Why would anyone kill a perfect person like Jesus?"  Questions I have no answer to.  But it wasn't the nails that held Him there on the cross, it was His LOVE for us!  Either He died or we die.
