Mom will be just fine with Jesus
Matthew 8:14 Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. 15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them. 16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
“He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”
Marks gospel tells us Jesus walks out of the synagogue there in Capernahum & enters Peters house. It literally was that close. Peter lived next to the Synagogue. Not sure why mom wasn't there, maybe she never went or maybe she was her sickness kept her away. It makes no difference. As a pastor, who's boss is Jesus Christ, I often go on these type visits. They are some of the thrilling parts of ministry. We don't need four walls of our church building for God to show up powerfully. Wherever & whenever we meet in His name, He is there! I love the freedom the Spirit gives. Some are encouraged by the visit, some are healed, and some receive salvation, all because we get up and get out as Jesus did, and serve as Jesus did. There are a lot of interesting professions in this world but I believe I have the best one ever, an under shepherd to Gods most precious treasure, His people! I love my job, but it doesn't take being a pastor to experience these type encounters. No, one only needs to ask the Spirit to lead them and He will. You will go! You will call! You will discover that Jesus is still on the move going to a lost world.

Here I am, Lord, send me!
It is sometimes hard for me to see Jesus there working in me ( or through me) because I tend to see the wrong side of things. I am where I am for a reason or a season for His purposes but I often get in the way!
Lottie, its always difficult to see personal growth. Thats why its important to write things down, of what God has done in us or shown us. Also, those around us see a difference in us.
Yes Missy, amen, send us.
Sondra, we are so blessed to have His Spirit lead us.
The promise that Jesus gave about the Holy Spirit being our teacher, comforter and guide is so precious. Through Holy Spirit we have confidence that He will be with us in all situations. We can truly say that it is well with my soul, and follow His leading us to be a blessing to others and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
