What is keeping the antichrist from being revealed?
2 Thessalonians 2:6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
The Bible states that there is this restrainer that is holding back the revelation of the antichrist. What possibly could this be or who could this be? Some say the whom is the Holy Spirit. But this cant be, for that means God is no longer upon the earth thus nobody could possibly be saved. I believe this "restrainer" to be the Holy Spirit embodied church. Those that are born again. When the church is caught up (raptured) to meet Jesus in the air, the antichrist will be revealed. With the Spirit filled church no longer here to refute him, he will be free to deceive. We as the church are never to look for this antichrist, we look always for Jesus Christ. The Rapture sets up the revealing of the antichrist and begins the 7 remaining years of the great tribulation. The 2nd coming of Jesus concludes that 7 years as Jesus destroys the antichrist and the nations that will rise against Jesus. Anytime the end times are spoken of in the Bible, these events are always consistent in this order. I am so looking for that moment when the LORD calls me home.

nThis is just my opinion: it is the Holy Spirit that restrain and holding back the Antichrist so that the world will not be overwhelmed. I do believe that there will be a global rebellion, and then Antichrist will be revealed. That's the time when the Holy Spirit will be taken away and the rapture will occur. After the last soul will be saved; then the Antichrist will reign in this world. When the Holy Spirit is taken away, there will no more chance to get saved.

Well, something you must consider after the rapture. The church is now in heaven. The earth is not void of God. The relationship between God and man may go back to pre church days. There will be tribulation saints, millions of them. Nobody can get saved unless the Father draws them. And He draws all men to only Jesus. The Holy Spirit draws all men to Jesus thus the Holy Spirit never left. I know it can get very detailed but we must always trust in the simplicity of Gods word. The tribulation saints, who are there because they choose not to live for Jesus now will have only one option then, die for Jesus. Keep up the good work and continue to study Gods word.
