Hanging on to Gods Blessing

1 Samuel 1:21 Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and his vow. 22 But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “Not until the child is weaned; then I will take him, that he may appear before the Lord and remain there forever.”
23 So Elkanah her husband said to her, “Do what seems best to you; wait until you have weaned him. Only let the Lord establish His word.” Then the woman stayed and nursed her son until she had weaned him.

Hannah is a godly woman.  She made a promise to give Samuel back to God if God would bless her with him.  And she never forgot that, yet here she is not ready to let go.  But truth is, anything God gives us, best thing to do is give it back to Him.  God doesn't need anything we have, but we need to learn to trust with our time, talent, & treasure.  Hannah would rejoice in Gods promise of Samuel for 6 years.  A bit old to wean a child but I totally get it.  Everytime she looked at her son, praises would ring out to God!  Nothing wrong with that!  I have noticed, the LORD is so patient with me.  He doesn't make demands, He honors my decisions.  I wish my release of His blessing back to Him would be a lot sooner, but often, I return what's His as Hannah here.  No late fees!  I might be wrong here, but I don't believe the LORD was pushing her nor disappointed in her for holding Samuel for 6 years!  In fact, I believe the timing was perfect for both as Hannah would of her free will offer Samuel back to God and the LORD would bless that offering!  God doesnt push us ya'll, to do anything for Him.  He loves a cheerful giver!
