God promotes us
1 Samuel 3:20 And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of the Lord.
How did all of Israel know Samuel was a prophet? Did he self promote himself as we see preachers do today. Some promote themselves so much that its their names you have impressed in your minds instead of Christs. Did Samuel let people know he was a prophet of God?
Obviously no! God promoted and exalted him into this office. Promotions and demotions come from the LORD. Dan was the most northern part of Israel whereas Beersheba the furthest south. We use media today but God doesn't need it. His Spirit is sufficient for the task. Only the LORD can establish us. Every ministry I've been in that made any impact at all, was due to the LORDS establishment of me there. I didn't pursue it, I didn't make it happen. This office of pastor. I done gave up on pastoring again. I counted it as loss. I didn't even want the "headache" anymore! I was cooked! But God wasn't done with me yet. Gods callings are not taken away. God knew, the very day Calvary Gulf Coast was started, that 20 years later this church would be torn by a pastor who lost his way and sinned against his God! It was 20 years ago, the Holy Spirit would call me into the ministry and go to Bible college. I had no idea why or where! Listen, I cant say this enough, God alone establishes us!

I praise the Lord Jesus Christ for establishing the pastor’s office for you! I can’t thank the Lord enough for his spirit to be sufficient for you to lead Calvary Chapel. Your desire in your heart for God’s people is very obvious. Just like what you said that it’s a headache but God’s grace is sufficient for you to stay where you at. I praise God to have a pastor that carry the light of my savior Jesus Christ. I don’t look up to you but I look up on my savior Jesus Christ. I thank God for the vessel he sent my way.
Thank you so much for those gracious words. I love the people whom God has redeemed. They are never the headache I spoke about. Its the fight against this worlds system for righteousness that is a grind but well worth the fight. Our LORD Jesus, lays for us the example to follow after. Without Him we can do nothing but with Him, we can do everything He leads us to do. This church has been the greats joy of my life outside the Lord , wife, and kids. Im glad He never gave up on me and He never will. Yet, His character fully applies to all believers. He wont give up on you.
Self promotion is an open doorway to disaster. God prepares His people, and places us in the right place at the right time. His way is perfect, even though we are less than perfect. It is so gracious that the Lord loves us so much that even when we are deeply wounded because of someone's failure He already has a plan in place for healing and growth. ❤️
