The Glory Has Departed

1 Sam 4:21 Then she named the child Ichabod, saying, “The glory has departed from Israel!” because the ark of God had been captured and because of her father-in-law and her husband. 22 And she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.”

Is this possible?  The Glory of God departing from His people?  Well, yes!  But only because this was the actions and choices of the people.  God wont bless nor endorse sin.  "God is more concerned with our purity and morality than His reputation" Steve Whinery.  Did the enemies of God become more emboldened by this?  of course.  But if God would of protected the Ark and given these corrupt boys the victory, what kind of precedence would that set?  You & and I's purity is more important than God protecting His great name & reputation.  The Glory of God departure is the worse thing about this story. I love Gods presence.  I need Gods presence.

You are so right. The worst circumstance for a human being is to be separated from God. Jesus knew that separation on the cross, and it was far worse than the pain of crucifixion for Him. He bore that for us so that we can delight in the Presence of God in this life and eternity. Amazing love

I will endure suffering and accept things that I cannot control rather than to be out of the will of God. God forbid that his glory will depart from me. ???
