Is Christ our King?
1 Samuel 8:19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, “No, but we will have a king over us, 20 that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.”
Refusal to obey, not Samuel, but the LORD. As a spokesman for God, its never you the people reject, its the LORD. Don't take rejection so hard, please. The world would love their own, but since you decided to live for Jesus, you will be hated for Christs sake.
We also should pay attention not to desire what the world has. If you want the emptiness of the world, well that's what you will have. To ask for a worldly king, to take what you have, for his purposes, not yours. Jesus is 100% for us. His Kingship is righteous. Jesus, You are my King.
