Talk vs Actions

1 Samuel 14:18 And Saul said to Ahijah, “Bring the ark of God here” (for at that time the ark of God was with the children of Israel). 19 Now it happened, while Saul talked to the priest, that the noise which was in the camp of the Philistines continued to increase; so Saul said to the priest, “Withdraw your hand.”

It can be a little confusing what Saul is doing here after Jonathan & his armorbearer's great victory! Saul checks upon the Ark of God! What are the priests doing that I didn't give them instruction to do? No mistake about it, Saul is a perfect representation of a religious man! One who talks big, one who hears all the time but never enacts upon obeying Gods word. Never courageous to believe God has him over the enemy. Look, consulting priests is good, seeking counsel is good, prayer is good but there is a time you know the answer already! Why are you wasting time stalling when God already has clearly spoken to you? There comes time for action, and Sauls Son Jonathan knew it! You don't need relics, religious icons, you only need to obey Gods word and get to work! Prayer should always be our go to coupled with obedient action! Do you expect God to answer your prayer? Then what does that look like? Obedience is now the call to action.
