Self Righteousness

Other peoples sins are always evident and ugly to us arnt they?  We can spot them out miles away.  But our sins, seem to be hidden to us or nonexistent.  Saul was a carnal man and his carnality lead to Israels sin.

1 Samuel 14:33 Then they told Saul, saying, “Look, the people are sinning against the Lord by eating with the blood!”So he said, “You have dealt treacherously; roll a large stone to me this day.” 34 Then Saul said, “Disperse yourselves among the people, and say to them, ‘Bring me here every man’s ox and every man’s sheep, slaughter them here, and eat; and do not sin against the Lord by eating with the blood.’ ” So every one of the people brought his ox with him that night, and slaughtered it there. 35 Then Saul built an altar to the Lord. This was the first altar that he built to the Lord.

Notice, you are sinning against the LORD!  Saul had no accountability.  Leaders are not always to blame, but must take responsibility over all.  Coaches are judged good or bad by how they lead their teams.  The buck stops with Saul.  Israel is a direct reflection of the man in charge.  Im fully aware of this.  I must be if I want to be a good shepherd of the LORDS sheep.  There will always be problems and sin in the gathering of sinful people, yet the root must be dealt with asap.  Leaders must lead by example and that example is Christ.
