Wise Men Still Seek to Worship God

Matthew 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Do you ever feel like your a slow learner or behind the times?  These magi began their long journey after Jesus' birth.  Why did the Lord inspire them to come at this time and not sooner to make it at the birth of Jesus?  There are lots of questions but the answers are already set in Gods word.  Gods timing is right on time every time.  Its never a wrong time to seek Jesus to worship Him.  These magi are most likely those who took Daniels writings many hundreds of years prior of the coming Messiah.  Maybe some scrolls the Jews would have brought with them.  Maybe some converted Babylonians to the Judea religion.  Jesus would be a young child, around 2 yrs old, at their arrival.  They go to the worst possible person to ask about the Messiah, Herod, but that even worked according to Gods plan.  This is great, they bypass Herod completely as a ruler and looks for the true King.  Who other than Jesus can inspire one to take a dangerous costly journey to worship and sacrifice?  I love how our LORD inspires the best in us to give unto Him.  How is Christ inspired you today that say, a Herod, cannot?
