Revival in the Churches
Acts 16:5 So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.
Paul, Silas, & Timothy felt Gods call to revisit all the churches previously formed and added. This is a heart from the Lord to follow up on the foundation laid of Jesus Christ. John later would share how joyful he was to hear his brothers and sisters, after many years of laboring for Christ, still walked in Christ and in the faith. This is one of the greatest joys I know, only second to my own salvation. To experience and see Gods faithfulness in those whom you have poured out your heart and soul to, labored in the gospel for, fought the spiritual battles for, that they are standing upon the Lord.
The churches need this follow up also, it revitalizes the church. These churches saw that this movement called Christianity, shown by Paul and company, was still going strong and walking in the faith. Nobody counting myself wants to be a part of a sinking ship or a lame duck religion! I want to see vision and hope and know what I believe in is taking me somewhere! People want to be part of this movement. Its living, fascinating, vibrant. The church will grow. The church will reproduce. The church will have vision. Oh, the church of Christ will be revived! Lord, I pray You use me to encourage faith, to strengthen the church in the faith. Only You can do this LORD! May Your name be noised abroad that Your in the house!
