How do I become Wise?
Proverbs 1:5 A wise man will hear and increase learning,
And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel.
Do you want to become Wise? I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but I want to look biblicaly at what it takes to be truly wise.
I'm told here, that I must first be a listener of Gods word. Come to His word with an open heart, not preconceived ideas, no matter what I think I know. Let Gods word be alive and fresh every time I read it. What are You speaking to me about now, LORD? I think of all the fresh revelations of Gods word I've enjoyed in the past and they all came from listening to Him, staying quite, even maybe affirming what is said. The times I run my mouth, think I have it all together, its those times I'm missing something.
When I'm at this still place of listening, I desire to seek out others of like minded faith. Others who, like me, just want to hear Gods compassionate voice. A wise man realizes that God speaks to others the same message. He in fact confirms His word with multiple sources and people. If what Im understanding is Gods word, then why not get with others who have the Spirit of God? Physically, we seek multiple opinions from a doctor, why not heed this proverb and get with other proven believers?

There is nothing that compares to hearing the Lord in His Word. Being joined with others in the Body of Christ is a delight, and encourages me to be an encourager. Building up our faith in the Lord Jesus. . .joy.
