Antidote To Poison | God's Word
Acts 14:1 Now it happened in Iconium that they went together to the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of the Jews and of the Greeks believed. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren.
Poison and venom both kill, but are administered vastly different. They say, if you ingest it, and it kills you, that's poison. If it bites you and you die, that's venom. These unbelievers poisoned the gentiles. Now we definitely have examples of both poisonous and venomous people in the bible. Jesus called the pharisees venomous vipers! Their heresies kill as it bites its victims. Here, their poison was given to hungry gentiles, not knowing right or wrong, and brought death. The gentiles didn't have to receive their poison, but did! Being in their shoes, I cant say I wouldn't have done the same. Religion has a powerful, fearful manipulation to it! This is exactly one of many reasons why, as a Spirit filled pastor, I make sure what I'm pouring out, is Gods living water, not poison. Peoples lives hang in the balance. Most will catch error, but many never will. Its a heavy responsibility a church leader, especially a pastor, must be aware of. Thankfully, I've never taught anyone in error, at least that I'm aware of, I've made vast mistakes, contextually, yet I'm always open and willing to correct those publicly, if made publicly! I'm amazed God would use sinful man to carry and herald such a holy word! I'm in complete gratitude to the Lord. I never want to be that guy who crashed my Father's car forsay! Thank You Lord for Your great mercy and grace to use a sinner as I.
